“The literary scene in Pittsburgh is remarkably diverse. There are working-class poets, accomplished literary and mystery novelists, recent MFA graduates of considerable promise and academics who have long promoted and hosted literary activities in the city. There are bookstores (old, new and antiquarian), reading series and publishing houses.
A new website, littsburgh.com, which went live in mid-August, hopes to become the clearinghouse for all that’s fit to read, discuss and print in the region.
‘Living here, you quickly discover that almost every night there are things going on,’ says writer Nick Courage, one of the founders of the site with his wife, Rachel Ekstrom, a literary agent, and Katie Kurtzman, an independent publicist.”
