Biography
Jason Jack Miller knows it’s silly to hold onto the Bohemian ideals of literature, music, and love above all else. But he doesn’t care. His adventures paddling wild mountain rivers and playing Nirvana covers for less-than-enthusiastic crowds inspired his Murder Ballads and Whiskey series, which includes the novels The Devil and Preston Black, Hellbender, The Revelations of Preston Black, and the forthcoming All Saints, all published by Raw Dog Screaming Press. Hellbender won Seton Hill University’s the Arthur J. Rooney Award for Fiction and was a finalist for the Appalachian Writers Association Book of the Year Award in 2013
His career began with an outdoor travel guide co-authored with his wife in 2006, and has since appeared in newspapers, magazines, literary journals, as part of a mobile travel guide app, and in the award-winning writing guide Many Genres, One Craft. Jason is a mentor and instructor in Seton Hill University’s prestigious Writing Popular Fiction Graduate Program. When he isn’t writing or teaching, he’s looking for his next guitar or traveling the world with his wife, Heidi. He is a member of The Authors Guild, Pennwriters, and International Thriller Writers.

Support Littsburgh!
Littsburgh™ is the online destination for the writers, publishing professionals, organizers, institutions, and readers who make Pittsburgh one of the world’s most literary cities.
Founded by three publishing professionals in 2015, Littsburgh showcases Pittsburgh as a hub of literary talent and activity while serving as a resource to foster further collaboration and connection within Pittsburgh’s vibrant literary community.
Littsburgh is a passion project and has been since inception.
Because we’re self-powered, we’ve been able to continue promoting literary Pittsburgh without having to compromise our vision or our mission — and without having to close up shop because of lack of funding. Our goal is for Littsburgh to be here for the long haul… and we’re only getting bigger and better every year!
As our audience has grown, however, so have our operating costs: hosting is increasingly expensive, spreading the word about literary Pittsburgh to our readers via social media channels requires paid “boosts,” and we’re investing literally hundreds of volunteer hours into the site every year.
With a small donation, one time or (even better!) recurring, you can help ensure that Littsburgh continues to grow and thrive.
