Biography
Brandon Getz is a writer and editor living in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh. In addition to writing and publishing fiction and poetry, he blogs for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and Quantum Theatre, copyedits book-length manuscripts for locally based press Dorrance Publishing (and independent clients), and serves coffee at the Steel City’s biggest café chain, Crazy Mocha.
Brandon earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University in 2010, where he also served as a fiction editor for the Willow Springs literary journal and taught creative writing to at-risk youth through the Writers in the Community program. After graduating with his MFA, he lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Philadelphia, before returning to Pittsburgh.
His work has appeared in Versal, Burrow Press Review, Thin Air, and The Delmarva Review, among others. His story “Robot on a Park Bench” was nominated by The Delmarva Review for the Pushcart Prize and is being developed into a radio drama by the magazine’s editors. Brandon is a member of the Hour After Happy Hour, a group of writers who meet weekly in Bloomfield, and is currently working on a collection and a comic noir novel based on characters he’s met in Pittsburgh’s Little Italy. As an editor, he is in the process of expanding his client base and may be available for freelance projects, both creative and commercial.

Support Littsburgh!
Littsburgh™ is the online destination for the writers, publishing professionals, organizers, institutions, and readers who make Pittsburgh one of the world’s most literary cities.
Founded by three publishing professionals in 2015, Littsburgh showcases Pittsburgh as a hub of literary talent and activity while serving as a resource to foster further collaboration and connection within Pittsburgh’s vibrant literary community.
Littsburgh is a passion project and has been since inception.
Because we’re self-powered, we’ve been able to continue promoting literary Pittsburgh without having to compromise our vision or our mission — and without having to close up shop because of lack of funding. Our goal is for Littsburgh to be here for the long haul… and we’re only getting bigger and better every year!
As our audience has grown, however, so have our operating costs: hosting is increasingly expensive, spreading the word about literary Pittsburgh to our readers via social media channels requires paid “boosts,” and we’re investing literally hundreds of volunteer hours into the site every year.
With a small donation, one time or (even better!) recurring, you can help ensure that Littsburgh continues to grow and thrive.
