⭐️ Embrace Your Chaos! Writing & Painting with Abandon from the Messy Middle of Life
July 18 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Dates/times: July 18 3pm-6pm and July 19 9am-4pm
Instructor: Sheila Squillante
“In this 2-day workshop, you’ll join writer and visual artist Sheila Squillante on a journey into words and paint, exploring memory and imagination with a spirit of experiment, discovery and play. Day one will include an introduction to the basics of creative writing in any genre, as well as the basics of intuitive abstract painting. We will write a little and paint a little and get comfortable with our materials. On day two we will go deeper. I will guide you into writing poems or memoir (we can even do fiction if you want!) using inspiring and evocative prompts. Then, we’ll make abstract paintings in response to that writing. Finally, we will write again, this time in response to each other’s paintings. This full circle experience will come to completion as we share our work and talk about the process of embracing our chaos!
We will gather at the Wilkins School Community Center in Pittsburgh’s charming Regent Square neighborhood, which is within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants and Pittsburgh’s beautiful, historic Frick Park.”
